K shopping today....we will see how this goes

To be honest, I have been in a K-Mart store only once in the last 5 years or so.  There is not one in my city, but there is one in neighboring city about 15 miles away.  Again, I'm going to be honest and say that in about the last 10 years I have NOT liked K-Mart; used to shop there a lot years and years ago.  I don't know if it is K-Mart stores in general have changed or just the store near me, but I just do not care for it.  The very few times I have been to K-Mart in the last 10 years, I have come out aggravated about something like a misleading ad or sign, and just have not like the layout of the store.  BBBBBUUUUUTTTTT............K-Mart is doubling coupons up to 99 cents this week, so oldest daughter & I are going to head over there today with a fist full of coupons and see what we can do.  She's got her list and bunch of coups & I do, too.  : )

The other K store, Kroger, is also located in the same city so we are going to stop in there, too, with all our 'triple up to 35 cents' eligible coupons to see if we can get some good deals.

So, we will see how our day of shopping at the K stores go.  I'll keep you posted.

Sad I didn't have that one.  :(

According to the Country Crock website, this is a limited time item, so you might want to try this really soon.  It is really good.  We've had it on toast a couple of times and I'm going to try it on biscuits tomorrow.  I'm thinking that on some warm yeast rolls this is going to taste a lot like the rolls & honey butter at Texas Roadhouse.  You can't stop at just one of those!

Dollar General Store - one of my favorites!

Last evening, I spent over 2 hours in my local Wally-world on a coupon shopping trip.  Whew, was that exhausting.  Now that's not to say that I didn't have a successful shopping trip, but I just can't do that too often.  My feet hurt and I was tired! 

If I want to make more of a 'get in and get out' quick shopping trip, I really like Dollar General.***  Besides, the smaller set up, there are several products that either I can only get at Dollar General or are a really great bargain, in my opinion.  For instance, my very favorite laundry detergent is Oxydol and the only place I can find it is at Dollar General.  OXYDOL - I need more coupons!!  I also use Kiss brand glue-on, French Tip nails.  I like to have nice looking fingernails, but I cannot afford to go to the nail salon on a continuing basis to have them done.  At DG, I can buy the package for $2.50 + $1.50 for the nail glue and this will last me about 2 weeks.  So I spend $4 about every 2 weeks vs. $25+ every week. I also like many of DG's Clover Valley brand products.  I especially like their cream soups.  I use Cream of Celery, Mushroom, and Chicken in lots of recipes.  These are 60 to 65 cents each vs. over $1 per can for name brands or other store brands.  I have also recently found that I LOVE their Bobbie Brooks jeans!  I like the style, the sizing, and the price (about $12).  This was a brand that was very popular when I was in high school....way, way back when.  : )

If you haven't tried Dollar General, I suggest you give it a try.  Check out their website for several different offers.  Sign up for their email notifications.  One of their really great offers is $5 off $25 Coupons on some Saturdays.  You can either get that coupon through their website or printed on the bottom of their register receipts.  Combine that with coupons and already low prices, and you have a great deal!

****Note to Dollar General:  I really do not like the condition of my local store!  It is dirty, cramped, crowded, and the air conditioning has NOT worked for several summers in a row.  No wonder you can't get or keep good workers there!  I prefer to shop at the newer, cleaner, better organized DG  stores located in other towns near me.  I do shop locally quite often, but usually come out angry about the temperature, sound level of music played on the radio, and the employees talking/texting on their phones while at the register or stocking shelves.  I voice these complaints EVERY time I get a register receipt with the survey option.  Is any body at DG listening?   Momma Bee gets a little cranky about stuff like that.

Momma Bee went to her first couponing class last night.  What did I learn? 
1.  I found out that there is so much I still need to learn.
2.  I learned that there are lots of really nice people who, like me, are trying to stretch their budgets and save money as they shop for their families.
3.  I learned more about the fanatical, extremers who are cheating and making honest money saving harder to do.

I've been reading and seeng lots of information about how people are saving a lot of money on essential items as they shop at CVS. My oldest daughter tutored me in my first really serious coupon and Extra Care Buck shopping trip at CVS tonight.  Here are some pictures and details.

I'm happy with the results for my first time out!  : )

Transaction #1: I had a FREE 5 count Zyrtex coupon up to $7.99.  These were $5.99 at CVS so these were FREE=$0.0, plus I got $5.99 in Extra Care Bucks.  So this was a money maker.

Transaction #2:  Schick Hydro 3 were $8.79 less $4 coupon=$4.79; Bayer Advance were $3 less $2 coupon, and Tic Tacs were B2G1 at 2 X $1.57 less $0.75, plus $5.99 Extra Care Bucks from transaction #1.  Final cost:  for All  $1.58  PLUS earned $1 and $4 extra care bucks.

Transaction #4:  Tooth paste BOGO at $2.87 less $1.00 off and $0.75 off coupons.  Hydro 3 razor refills $8.79 less $2 off coupon. Plus less $1 and $4 extra care bucks.  Final cost: $3.37 plus earned $4 more extra care bucks!

Total shopping trip:  $36.23 less coupons and Extra Care Bucks = Out of Pocket spent ===>$4.95 plus I have $4 in Extra Care Bucks to use on my next visit to CVS!

PLUS, I also got a print out with a $4 off $20offer when I go online and update my email address on CVS account.  Will get the coupon in the mail in about 3 weeks.  I LIKE IT!

When you run into an issue with a manufacturer's or vendor's product or website, you should 'speak' up and let them know.  Most companies have a CONTACT US link on their websites or show a mailing address.  Be clear about the issue, but be polite. 

I recently had difficulties trying to print off coupons from the Kimberly-Clark website, so I contacted them by email.  Here is an email response I got today from Kimberly-Clark J

Dear Momma Bee,

Thanks for your e-mail about the electronic coupon offer from VIVA® towels.

We are sorry to learn that you were unable to print the coupon for VIVA towels. So that you may participate in this special offer, we are sending you a coupon of comparable value through the mail.
